Are you aware of any SSD w thunderbolt 3 and 500GB-1TB memory that are in a price range where it would make sense to buy it instead of just saving up the extra money and getting the PC I like the idea Im just not as knowledgable when it comes to Macs or even external hardware as I am with the standard internal goodies. All trademarks are property of their respective owners in the US and other countries. So I have been looking into ways to get GTA to run on her Mac.
To make matters worse were down to about 25GB of internal storage on her Mac so Bootcamp isnt immediatly viable. GB) on just windowsGTA (about 90GB total) is hard to justify. Is this plausable Will it be too slow to play at a decent resolution Will it oveerheat Should I just bite the bullet and start selling my body on the streets to get that second PC any and all serious input would be helpful. Thanks. Macs definetly arent ideal and miss out on a lot of great games (hence my current problem) but dont write them off completely. Ive used ms-dos. Ive used windows since 3.0. Ive since used 95, 98, 2000, me, xp, vista, 7, 8 and 10. Ive used Macs since 2006, and have used every version since 10.5. Currently running macOS Sierra. I also have experience with the 2015 MacBookPro because I bought one for my son. Ive also opened and replaced parts on both PC and Mac, so Im familiar with whats inside. Heres my advice. ADVICE 1: Rather than trying to run from a usb3 hd, Id advise getting a thunderbolt 3 enabled hd rather than usb3, but ONLY if your mbp is 2015 or later. Earlier mbps would have a Thunderbolt 2, which is still twice as fast as usb3, but not as fast as T3. Usb3 will give you up to around 5gigbitssecond, thunderbolt 2 will give you 20, thunderbolt 3 will give 40. Gta On Book Plus For RunningThat could be a plus for running the OS and the game off the external. At the same time, its nice to have a computer thats completely dedicated to the os. I ran a mac completely off an external for awhile and didnt like it. It ran the hd too hard, and I noticed it would get pretty warm after awhile, because externals dont have fans like an internal gets. Externals really arent MEANT to be used to run an os, which requires constantly read-writing when you use the computer. As well, most macbook pros actually DONT have a video card capable of handling a lot of games. Intel Iris Graphics 6100, which rates just above a GTX 460m. I just dont think youre going to get a good performance on a lot of games. AMD Radeon Pro 450 which is much better. The problem is money, we cant justify buying another 1000 dollar PC just to game on, and she needs the Mac for work so we cant just sell it and join the fun side of the computer war.
